Adult Leader Training

Certified Instructors

Church leadership believes that well trained leaders are the key to any ministry's success. Pastors understand that a trained volunteer is much more likely to commit their time and can be counted on to show up every week. For these reason, and others, the Royal Rangers program places a high priority on leader training.

The fundamental goal of training is to inspire, mobilize, and resource leaders to empower them to achieve their greatest success and effectiveness.  Royal Rangers training is based on three core values:

  • Spiritual Development .  All classroom and event-based leadership training will have a spiritual emphasis.
  • Ranger Skills Development .  Training will focus on the 7 methods Royal Rangers use to minister to boys. Ranger skills are a key component of this success.
  • Leadership Development .  Leadership development will be key as Royal Rangers moves to become a boy led, adult facilitated ministry.

It takes a leader to mentor new leaders. Training will help Royal Rangers strengthen its leadership core.

Training Opportunities for Leaders

Adult leader training takes place primarily in two formats:  national camps & conferences and the district-sponsored Leadership Training Academy .  National camps & conferences are conducted under the direction of the national Royal Rangers leadership and held at various locations around the country each year.  For more information on these important events, click here .

The Leadership Training Academy provides training opportunities closer to home and are provided by district leaders throughout the country.  For more information on the LTA, click here .

*Only one Activities Module and one camp are required for the LMA.  The second/third Activities module will count as an elective.

**The district LTA/RK Skills camps can be replaced with the NTC/RKTC.  Only one of these camps is required for the LMA.  The district staff strongly recommends the National camps.

Thus, the LMA will require 27-30 hours (depending on the length of the elective modules), plus the first aid course and the camp-out or RK skills.  Check with your Training Coordinator for the latest Power Point and Instructor/Student Guides.

Lunch is included in the fees for any class over 4 hours!

Lunch for all other classes is on your own.

First Aid class fees are subject to the certification authority.

For more information contact your division commander or

Tracy Chavis, District Training Coordinator

Pre-registration is required for all events.
