JLTA - Junior Leadership Training Academy
Chuck Packard
Programs Coordinator

The JLTA scheduled for February 8-10, 2008, has been cancelled.  Yes, again.  The staff does not feel we are not yet ready to put on a quality JLTA for our Rangers.  We are lacking in two primary areas:

1) Equipment - We do not have the equipment we need.  What equipment do we need?  Well, that is another question we are not 100% sure of.

2) Experience - We have not put on a JTC or even an LTC camp in a while.  So no one has gained the expertise I would like us to have to put on a top notch event for our boys.

So what are we going to do about it?  I have spoken with Carl Vecchio of the SC Conference of the IPHC.  The Pentecostal Holiness Royal Rangers will be conducting a JTA in July 2008 at their Lake City camp ground.  Our Rangers are invited to attend this camp, along with our commanders.

This allows our Rangers to get the training they need and want, and also gets us the experience of attending an actual camp that has been running for a while.

We still want to have our own camp, but I want it to be quality from top to bottom, and I want to continue working with our fellow Rangers in the IPHC.
